The children from 5 years are welcome to participate in the India National Read Aloud Challenge. The participant must be a resident of India.
Yes, you can add a sibling to the same account. As a parent or carer, simply set up your account, and then, once logged in, you can add up to 10 readers.
The India National Read Aloud Challenge is specifically designed for the children residing in India.
The purpose of our Read Aloud Challenge is to encourage children across India to read more, whilst using an engaging interactive format that immediately shows progress and provides reward.
It is entirely up to your child! This should be fun, not forced!.
Reading with this interactive app is rewarding, and we hope that the Challenge certificates and prizes will encourage children to read more.
If your child completes the first Challenge milestone before the challenge ends they’ll receive the first Challenge certificate and can continue reading to achieve the hall of fame challenge.
To participate in the India Read Aloud Challenge, you will need access to either an iOS or Android tablet. The app used cannot be downloaded to phone or laptop.
The 1st level India National Read Aloud Challenge Milestones are:
Once the 1st level Challenge has been completed, your child can work towards entering the Hall of Fame.
The India Read Aloud Challenge Hall of Fame Milestones are:
Each reader must complete all three milestones to get the 1st level Challenge certificate. These milestones are 15 books, 30 stars and 60 minutes within the challenge period.
If your child is unable to complete the Hall of Fame milestones, they’ll still receive their 1st level Challenge certificate, along with a X discount on their first year’s subscription to Fonetti.
The India National Read Aloud Challenge is open until the 31st January 2024.
The challenge starts as soon as you register, so download the app and login as soon as possible to make the most of the Challenge.
During the Challenge, readers can either work towards completing the 1st level Challenge, or choose to progress to include the Hall of Fame milestones too.
With the India National Read Aloud Challenge, children who achieve the first challenge will receive a certificate. After completing the second challenge they will be entered into the Hall of Fame, and a discount off a years subscription (999 INR) which will be emailed to the parent / carer who registered the account.
The rewards cannot be converted into any other form.
When your child completes both the Challenges, the Fonetti team will get in touch via email with your discount code.
To apply your discount you will need to log into the Fonetti user portal and purchase a subscription using your discount code.
The Fonetti interactive reading app has a reports/progress dashboard, accessible from the menu in the app.
You’ll also receive a regular report via email on each child’s progress during the India National Read Aloud Challenge.

We provide personalized reports of your students' reading progress, highlighting their achievements and areas for improvement. School reports will be shared upon completion of the challenge, capturing their overall reading journey.
The Fonetti app requires access to the internet.
The minimum specifications are:
Android 5 Lollipop or newer with at least 500MB of free storage space, however, Android 9 or newer will deliver the best experience.
Any iPad manufactured after 2015 and running iOS 13 or newer.
The minimum storage of the tablet should be 32GB or beyond.

When you registered for the Challenge, you should receive a welcome email with instructions on how to download the Fonetti app along with a temporary password for you to sign in.This will be sent to the email address you used to register for the challenge. Sometimes the welcome email can end up in your spam folder, so please check there for an email from Fonetti.com.
